By recycling materials, we enhance resource efficiency and extend the lifespan of finite resources in the construction sector.
This approach significantly reduces landfill contributions, which is crucial given that construction and demolition materials account for 18% of Australia’s waste. Currently, 78% of this waste is recovered, with ongoing efforts to improve this rate.
Using recycled materials decreases the demand for new resources, lessening the impact on natural habitats and wildlife by reducing quarrying, mining, and deforestation.
